The following scholarships are available to all full-time Huron University College students, with the exception of students who currently hold a Huron University College Scholarship.
Application for each scholarship is a letter of no more than two pages, addressing the criteria stated in the scholarship description. The letter may contain other information that may be relevant to your receiving the scholarship. The letter must be dated, and include your HOME MAILING ADDRESS, STUDENT NUMBER, and current year of study. The 2011 Application Deadline will be announced shortly.
THE SEANNA AND NICOLE STRONGMAN SCHOLARSHIPS (2010-2011 value $2,500.00 each) THREE AVAILABLE - one for students entering each of Second, Third, and Fourth years. These scholarships are given by family and friends in the names of Seanna and Nicole Strongman and are awarded to full-time students who, on the completion of their first, second, and third year of study, are judged highest in five equally weighted categories: (1) Academic achievement; (2) College citizenship; (3) Community service; (4) Involvement in athletics and the arts; and (5) Leadership.

THE GREAT MINDS, GREAT HEARTS SCHOLARSHIP (2010-2011 value $2,200.00 each) THREE AVAILABLE - open to students entering Second, Third, and Fourth years. Three scholarships are funded by the generous contributions of Huron University College students to the Great Minds, Great Hearts Capital Campaign 1997 to 2002. The scholarships are awarded to students judged according to the following areas: (1) Academic achievement; (2) College citizenship; (3) Community service; (4) Involvement in athletics and the arts; and (5) Leadership, with special emphasis on "involvement in student life at Huron University College and/or the University of Western Ontario".

THE DORIS AND OWEN FOSTER SCHOLARSHIP (2010-2011 value $500.00) ONE AVAILABLE - open to students entering Second, Third and Fourth years. This scholarship is funded by Mrs. Doris Foster, and is awarded to a student with a learning disability and the highest average (minimum 75%) over 4.0 courses in the previous year of study. If no student with a learning disability qualifies for the scholarship, it will be awarded to a student of high academic standing who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to community service.

THE KEVIN M. CUNLIFFE FOURTH-YEAR SCHOLARSHIP (2010-2011 value $500.00) ONE AVAILABLE - The recipient will be entering fourth year of an Honours program and, like Kevin Cunliffe, have shown a sustained improvement in overall academic performance over his or her previous three years of university study and have contributed actively to enhancing the student community life of the College. Kevin M. Cunliffe (1969-1991) was a Combined Honours History and Political Science student at the time of his death. The scholarship is awarded in his memory.

THE FRANK HOLMES ACADEMIC ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIPS (2010-2011 value $2,500) TWO AVAILABLE - RENEWABLE FOR ONE YEAR. The scholarships recognize exceptional ability and achievement in both academic and athletic performance and the commitment such achievement requires in successfully balancing the demands of both fields in student life. The two-year renewable scholarships will be awarded to one male AND one female student based on the following criteria: registered full-time at Huron University College, achieved an 80% or better average in his or her previous year of study, and registered on a university-level, intercollegiate athletic team at The University of Western Ontario.

THE DR. DON MELADY AND MR. ROWLEY MOSSOP DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP (2010-2011 value $1,000) ONE AVAILABLE - The scholarship will be awarded to the entering fourth-year full-time student who has maintained a minimum B average in second and third year, and whose career at Huron University College has been marked by a conspicuous dedication to the value of openness, the acceptance of difference, and the promotion of diversity in Canadian Society.
