Huron's Priority Projects

The Annual Fund supports a broad range of needs at Huron representing different areas of College life. By supporting the Annual Fund, you help keep Huron the first-class, special place you know and provide opportunities for new generations of Huron students to grow and prepare for the future.

This year's Annual Fund for the College focuses on three areas:

1. The Huron Fund: areas of greatest need

Many supporters allocate their donation to The Huron Fund which gives the College the flexibility to direct contributions to priority projects as needed. These programs include scholarships, financial assistance bursaries for qualifying students, and classroom equipment incorporating up-to-date technology.

2. Library resources

Huron alumni have fond memories of the Library as a place for study, quiet reflection and meeting other students. The Silcox Memorial Library features a first-class collection which is enhanced each year through the acquisition of new books, periodicals, videos and electronic databases to meet the needs of today's students. The annual cost of these materials is $165,000.

All contributions are gratefully received. For a donation of $250 or more, the name of the donor will be featured on a framed scrollin the Library.

3. The Catharine Ridley National Scholarship Fund

Miss Catharine Ridley, who passed away in January 2011, served Huron and its students with great distinction as Registrar from 1961 to 1991. As former Principal Charles Jago has said, "In her dealings with faculty and staff, Catharine was always clear in her message: Huron was there, first and foremost, to serve students. Student-centredness was what she preached; student-centredness was what she practiced."
